What changed in each version

Bug fixes

• Fixed a long-standing bug in teacher Excel imports: previously these only worked with files kept under their original export names, and were split across multiple files.
• Fixed a long-standing issue where the resolution did not adapt to screen size.
• Fixed a bug where courses with a time but no room were left out of schedule generation.
• Fixed a bug where, at higher display scaling, text overflowed windows and some buttons were squashed.
• Fixed a bug where the application could not be brought back after using “Show desktop” while a dialog was open.
• Dropdown lists and pop-up windows no longer extend beyond the application window.
• Fixed a bug where classes ending after 20:00 overflowed the timetable grid and overlapped the elements below it.
• License verification now retries on a slow server response, and a temporary server error or loss of internet connection no longer deletes the saved license key.
• Considerably faster schedule generation, with the interface remaining usable throughout.
• Faster startup, and broad searches (e.g. two letters) no longer freeze the application: results are shown page by page.

New features

• New button for opening the folder.
• Reworked folder structure: separate Schedule and Search folders, the latter holding the student lists (Students) and the course lists (Subjects); teacher search also works from the latter. Where the course lists are missing, the student is displayed with course information only.
• Files stored per semester: each semester’s exports go into a separate folder, and the semester in use can be selected in Settings or in the sidebar, so old files no longer have to be deleted at the start of a new semester.
• Importing files from Settings: the program recognises student lists, course lists and calendar files by their content and copies them to the right place; for course lists, it can be chosen whether they go to the planner, the search or both.
• Progress indicator for importing and for refreshing the databases.
• Pinning and excluding courses in the planner: generation leaves a pinned course untouched and never places an excluded one in a timetable.
• New “My schedule” view: a timetable can also be assembled course by course, missing subjects can be filled in from suggestions, and one’s own registered timetable can be loaded with a single click.
• Generated timetables can be added to the Calendar tab.
• It can be set whether courses without a time or room may be included in generated timetables.
• Per-subject rules in the advanced filters: a subject’s courses can be narrowed down to, or exclude, a teacher, room, day or time; by default the rules apply to practical classes.
• Generation can optionally avoid the personal events entered on the Calendar tab.
• Course code formats: information contained in course codes (e.g. location, sport) can be extracted, names can be assigned to code segments, and these appear in the search and in timetables and can be filtered on in the advanced filters.
• Course types in Settings: the type names recognised as theoretical, practical and exam courses can be viewed and extended; classes of an unrecognised type are marked “(unknown type)” in the search.
• The search shows the type of each class, and the timetable view also lists classes without a time.
• Swap partner search on the course exchange tab: it shows who a given course is badly placed for, as they are the most likely swap partners.
• On the course exchange marketplace, only one’s own registered courses can be offered by default, several requested courses can be specified from the same subject, and listings can be searched by the offered or the requested course.
• Stored Excel files can be deleted by category in Settings.
• Help button, and the version number shown in the About section.
• Per-day filters: attendance, earliest start and latest end can be set separately for each day.
• Free demo version providing basic schedule generation.
• New course exchange marketplace: offered and requested courses can be recorded, and the offers of other users reviewed.
