Terms of Service

This is a plain-language translation provided for convenience. The Hungarian version is the legally authoritative text; in case of any conflict or discrepancy, the Hungarian version governs.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the purchase and use, by the Customer (the “User”), of a license to the downloadable software named Schedun, developed and distributed by Marketing Kalkulátor Kft. (the “Provider”).

By completing payment, the User confirms they have read these Terms and accept them as binding.

1. Provider details

2. Subject of the service and product description

  1. The service consists of selling a license to use Schedun, a downloadable (.exe) software providing university schedule planning and study-related assistance.
  2. The software requires an active internet connection to operate and to verify license validity.
  3. The license consists of a single, unique license key tied to the email address provided at purchase.
  4. Once activated on a machine, the license is bound to that machine.

3. Purchase and payment process

  1. Purchases are made through the Provider’s secure Stripe payment link.
  2. The User must provide accurate information (name, email, university, billing address). The Provider is not liable for billing or delivery errors resulting from incorrect information.
  3. After successful payment, the Provider’s automated system sends an electronic invoice (via Számlázz.hu) and the unique license key needed to activate the software to the provided email address.

4. Right of withdrawal for digital products (IMPORTANT!)

  1. Under Section 29(1)(m) of Hungarian Government Decree 45/2014 (II. 26.) on the detailed rules of contracts between consumers and businesses, for digital content not supplied on a tangible medium, the consumer may not exercise the right of withdrawal once performance has begun with the consumer’s express prior consent.
  2. By clicking the payment button, the User expressly consents to the Provider beginning performance — delivery of the license key — immediately.
  3. Accordingly, once payment succeeds and the license key has been emailed, the User is NOT entitled to withdraw from the purchase or request a refund.

5. Usage rights and restrictions (license terms)

  1. Purchasing a license grants the User a non-exclusive, time-limited, non-transferable right to use the Schedun software.
  2. The User may only use the license key for their own purposes. Sharing, reselling, or publishing the license key results in immediate termination of the license without compensation.
  3. Reverse engineering, modifying, copying, or distributing the software without authorization is strictly prohibited and may result in legal consequences.

6. Warranty and limitation of liability

  1. The Provider makes every effort to keep the software running smoothly and the university data accurate, but the software is provided “as is.”
  2. The Provider is not liable for background changes to or outages of university systems (e.g. Neptun or other official schedule sources) that are beyond its control and affect the software’s operation.
  3. The Provider is not liable for any direct or indirect damages (including missed classes, missed exam registrations, or academic setbacks) arising from the use of the software or any malfunction.

7. Amendments and governing law

  1. The Provider reserves the right to unilaterally amend these Terms. Amendments take effect upon publication on GitHub.
  2. Matters not covered by this agreement are governed by the Hungarian Civil Code (Ptk.) and applicable law.
